Sensibilities of Wollurn
Project type:
3D Print with handmade
There are all sorts of floating creatures in Wollurn's atmosphere. Sensibiles are the largest and most diverse among them. There are almost 200 different species, all somewhat similar yet distinguishable in many aspects. They feed on organic and inorganic particles that they filter from the air. Some also use thermosynthesis. They focus light rays and convert them into heat, which in turn thermotrophies into glucosine.
Sensibiles are very sociable and don't like to drift around alone. Although it seems as if they are all driven by chance and air currents, no two Sensibiles ever collide. They elegantly orbit each other in ever-changing orbits, filtering the air like oysters filter seawater.
They can reproduce in a variety of ways. They unite with each other using their fine antennae or through wind pollination. The special thing about them is that it always takes three individuals for successful fertilization. The sex of the sensibiles involved is completely irrelevant. A total of 13 sexes have been identified so far, and all of them are capable of reproducing. A gestation period of approximately 20 minutes is followed by the birth of a new sensibile. During the first eight years of their development, they also have the ability to form a clone from their own shadow, without any exchange of gametes. There is clear evidence that sensibiles possess highly developed social behavior and are capable of communicating with their conspecifics through information transfer.
