These small suspended particles appear like dust to the naked eye, but only a look through a microscope reveals the incredible variety of their appearance. Their function on Wollurn is comparable to that of pollen or flower dust on Earth, except that they do not exist for reproductive purposes in the classic sense, but function solely to transmit thoughts and ideas. Every species on Wollurn is capable of giving birth to cogitates. These then float through the atmosphere, carried by air currents and, with sufficient concentration, can transmit thoughts from one living being to another. Thus, they are both a type of means of communication and a type of guide. If several individuals have similar ideas, their concentration in the atmosphere increases, and these ideas spread across the entire planet.
